5 Tips for Cleaning Carpets in Hotels and Restaurants

An unclean carpet is so easily noticeable to guests as they enter your otherwise beautiful hotel or restaurant, we bring you some tips to ensure your carpets always look pristine and that you get the most out of your vacuum.

  1. Firstly, you need to make sure your vacuum cleaner is in optimum condition – this means you need to check the bag, if it is more than 2/3 full, be sure to change it before using. A bag that is too full will effect the suction of the vacuum.
  2. If you are using your Henry Vacuum to clean upholstery or anything delicate, place some tights at the over the suction tube for a gentler vacuum.
  3.  Clean carpets with a great carpet cleaner at least once a fortnight. This cleaner is great for use in extraction machines and includes soiling removing agents, de-foamers, anti-re-deposition agents and deodorants and removes grease, oil and general grime from all types of carpets.
  4. Before vacuuming, if there is a particularly large number of hair on the carpet, take a regular bristle brush and go over the carpet gently to collect hairs. This will ensure the nozzle of the vacuum doesn’t get clogged up with hair.
  5. Make your rooms smell nice. Okay, so the primary job of a vacuum cleaner’s is to clean your floors, but did you know you could also make the room smell nice as you go? All you need to do is spray a strip of tissue or ball of cotton wool with perfume and as you vacuum the smell will diffuse into the air.
